A Message from the Barefoot Cook
There’s a quote by Khalil Gibran that stirs my soul like a bowl of fresh-whipped cream:
“Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.”
I‘m Amanda Love, The Barefoot Cook. I teach families, farmers + freedom-seeking food-lovers how to reclaim the power of simple, nourishing cooking – and lead happier, more harmonious lives.
My workshops, classes + retreats get back to the beautiful basics – the ancient food preparation techniques that our ancestors knew about, but we’ve forgotten. I’m an advocate for high-pleasure meals made with high-quality ingredients. And yes – that includes grass-fed beef, pastured eggs, and hand-churned butter.
I get around – and so does my food. I’ve roamed the nation in a VW van as a traveling chef, sauteed + seared at silent meditation ashrams, cultured kombucha + sourdough bread inside progressive prisons, prepped healing feasts for celebrity clients, flicked pine needles out of my soup in permaculture kitchens, and received standing ovations and awards for my commitment to organic food + sustainable eating.
Ready to kick off your shoes, crank up the stove, and celebrate the life-affirming power of one really good meal?
Come cook with me.
